I have been turning wood for seventeen years. It started with a small course, I fell for the lathe, and wood has not let go of me since.

Most of what I make starts as a commission: candlesticks, boxes, scroll cases, vases, whole sets turned piece by piece. I work slowly, in solid wood, and finish by hand. I do not make production runs, and that is exactly why I love this work.

Alongside the wood I also teach. I have taken people who had never touched a lathe all the way to a piece they are proud of, and that is the part of the work I find most rewarding.

This past year colour entered the picture. I started painting and found I did not want to stop. The first painting to become a print is The Temple, and it already hangs in a few homes. From here I keep going: every new painting that feels right will come to the site as a signed print.
